Editorial notes

About Clay Table Notes

Clay Table Notes is an independent journal about ceramic objects, useful arrangements and looking more closely at everyday forms.

What you will find here

Six essays about ceramic shapes, useful cups, arrangements, sketching objects and keeping a thoughtful collection. Our first collection contains six original notes, a practical reference and a small companion tool. The ideas are meant to be tried and adapted, with room for ordinary materials and an unhurried afternoon.

How we make the journal

Articles are written for this independent editorial project. Illustrations are original vector drawings made for this collection. They show the subject rather than documenting a particular place, person or commercial product. We do not publish paid reviews, customer testimonials or product sales.

A place to begin

Choose three objects already in the room, arrange them with space between, and notice which one you actually use.

Start with The shape of a cup, browse the whole collection, or keep the reference guide nearby.
